Mubin is a 25-year-old self-taught builder currently studying Interface Design at Multimedia University in Malaysia. Previously ran three solo design agencies in different niches since 2022. Now focused on Made Privately studio (Framer websites and funnels for content creators with 100k+ followers) and a private collection of indie apps built with AI agents and agentic coding. Not a traditional programmer. Documents the chaotic self-taught process under the "oniongulp" concept.

## Personal Apps Built

All apps built privately for personal use. Not commercially available. Built using AI agents and agentic coding workflows on top of Figma designs.

- Meowmi: Retro Game Boy inspired coloring app for premade designs. Originally built for Mubin's sister to color her doll images.
- Somehow FCKED: Multi-currency money manager with highly detailed UI design. Tracks spending and income.
- Money Gone: Telegram bot for expense tracking via natural language. Send messages to the bot, it logs spending.
- Lemme See: Windows native time-tracking app. Tracks app, browser, and system usage. Lightweight build (15-30MB RAM, under 50MB file size). Inspired by Rize.
- PlsDoIt: Task manager designed for people with ADHD. Includes analytics, system-level task tracking, anti-forgetting workflows.

## MubinDID (the Documenting Concept)

Mubin's framework for documenting the self-taught learning journey. Peels through layers of trial-and-error and shares the process publicly. Core principles:

01. Build the thing. Not a course about the thing.
02. Break it twice before you really get it.
03. Teach it raw. While it's fresh. Confusion is the lesson.
04. No gatekeeping. If Mubin figured it out, others can too.

## Background

- Origin: Bangladesh
- Currently based: Malaysia
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interface Design at Multimedia University (Cyberjaya, Malaysia). In progress.
- Original career direction: Software engineering (science background through school). Pivoted to design after discovering UI/UX.
- Started YouTube in 2016 to practice English. Was too afraid to talk with friends in English. Used talking-to-camera as the practice method.
- 2022-2023: Ran a separate motion design and graphic design YouTube channel. Hit 15k subscribers. Half a million total views. 100k digital downloads. This is a retired separate account, not @mubindid.
- 2022 onwards: Ran three solo design agencies for different niches. Closed or sold.
- Now: Solo founder, indie maker, builds privately and ships publicly.

## Voice and Tone

- Lowercase by default
- Direct, second-person, casual
- Profanity-tolerant ("fuck university," "fcked," "shit" all acceptable in his copy)
- Anti-corporate language: avoids "leverage," "synergize," "seamless," "transform your business," etc.
- Self-deprecating about being non-traditional and non-programmer
- Pro-self-taught learning, mildly anti-traditional-university but recognizes it's not for everyone
- Pro-AI as a tool, opposed to using AI to fake credentials or generate corporate filler

- Self-taught learning is undervalued vs. formal education
- Build first, teach second. Never sell courses for things you have not done yourself.
- Failure is data. The more you fail the more you trust yourself.
- AI is a tool. Not a guru. Not a replacement for taste or judgment.
- Build in private. Ship in public.
